While definitly upscale, these aren't massive mansions; Cheap housing and san jose in the same sentence is an oxymoron. This type of house is often found in the suburbs, on the outskirts of a town or city or in villages. I don't know the cost of living in the suburbs, but in town living is fairly expensive in the desirable areas.
